Alta Vista Technology: Looking Back at 2019

After a quick year-end breather, we thought it would be a fun idea to take a look back at what we accomplished in 2019. Let’s start with growth.

Historic Growth

Alta Vista Technology saw it’s the biggest year in the history of the company. We more than doubled our new customer base from the previous year while adding 5 new team members. We are known for hiring only the best of the best and our new additions come to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Their passion for helping our customers and finding solutions to their specific problems and needs was evident from day 1. We are a stronger team with them and can’t wait to see how our customers improve under their care!

New Team Members

Kevin Alexander: Kevin has been the project leader and/or senior consultant on over 100 ERP & CRM software implementations and possesses strong management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with ease. His extensive expertise and focus within the distribution and CRM specialties make him a tremendous asset to AVT customers. Kevin has applied his talents to a wide variety of projects both in pre-sales business process consulting, project management, senior lead consulting, and trusted technical advisor.

Steve Walker: Steve has 20+ years of accounting experience as a controller and accounting manager and possesses a deep understanding of today’s accounting processes and methods. Steve’s 6+ year of Sage Intacct experience as a consultant through practice manager includes comprehensive knowledge of the software as well as a deep understanding of APIs. His passion for ERP systems, automating processes and building long-lasting partnerships with clients is only rivaled by his dislike of the term ‘manual’.

Karen Campbell: Karen has over 25 years of accounting experience as well as several ERP implementations as a project manager. She has spent the past 2 years focused solely on Sage Intacct as a Senior Consultant. Prior to the Sage Intacct consultant role, direct responsibilities have included database management early in her career to Senior Financial Analyst for a public manufacturing company as well as financial lead and project manager for manufacturing and distribution ERP systems.

Kara Nicolson: Kara began her career with Alta Vista Technology after completing her Bachelor of Integrative Studies with a minor in Business Analytics and a focus on Finance from Oakland University. Combining these studies with her previous knowledge of customer service and art background allow her to have a unique and creative approach to analytics. Having an artist background allows her to create analyses and reports that are unique, creative and, visually appealing.

Heather Barkatt: Heather started her professional career as a bookkeeper at a manufacturing plant where she learned the basics of accounting and monthly close. She then spent five years working as an attestation associate at UHY, LLP where she participated in and eventually led various audit, review, and compilation engagements, as well as employee benefit plan audits. Here she continued to gain technical accounting and auditing knowledge. Throughout her years in public accounting, she developed a focus on client relations and project organization and management. She recognizes the importance of balancing technical competency with strong communication and organizational skill sets to ensure well-rounded customer-focused solutions.

Award Season

2019 was also a big year for awards. Alta Vista was named to the Inc. 5000 for the second year in a row. A feat only 1 in 4 companies that make this list achieve. We were also named one of the top 100 VARS in North America based on growth by ERP Global Insights and a top 100 VAR by Accounting Today. Corp Magazine named us an Economic Bright Spot in Michigan and Bob Scott named us a VAR Star based on our impact and contribution to the industry.

It was also a big year for us with respects to Sage Intacct. Alta Vista was named a partner of the quarter and had the distinction of being named to the Sage Intacct Presidents Club. The Presidents Club is reserved for only the elite VARs and we are extremely proud of this achievement.

“It starts with our team who has put everything they have into their work. They are committed to providing world-class customer service and that helps put our customers at ease. We also put a considerable amount of effort into crafting a solution that fits your specific business. Accounting and ERP systems are never one-size-fits-all. Everyone does things differently and it is our job to make it all fit together and run flawlessly. That is our commitment.”
